Spring Reading Thing 2008

It's Spring (hooray!) and time for the Spring Reading Thing Challenge. Thanks so much to Katrina for hosting. I really enjoy taking part in this, and I appreciate the opportunity to see what others are reading. Here is my list.
Nonfiction:
I usually have to force myself to read nonfiction. I am excited, however, to read most of these titles. You will see that a few of these books will help me improve my photography skills, some were chosen because of the Bible study I have been hosting for teenage girls, and some are listed simply because I want or need to read them.
The Moment It Clicks by Joe McNally
Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson
Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World by Joanna Weaver
The Busy Mom's Devotional by Lisa T. Bergren
A Mom after God's Own Heart by Elizabeth George
Fiction:
I have chosen to read many of these books based on the recommendations of fellow bloggers (and some were taken from the lists of Fall Into Reading participants). I am especially excited to read Persuasion because after reading it, I will have read all of Jane Austen's books. I started working on this goal last spring.
Persuasion by Jane Austen
Dawn of a Thousand Nights by Tricia Goyer
Playing for Pizza by John Grisham
Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella
Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden
The Founding by Cynthia Herrod Eagles
Snow Angel by Jamie Carie
A New Day Rising by Lauraine Snelling
I also may add a few books that appeal to me from the lists of others. Happy Reading, and Welcome Spring!
Added after beginning the challenge:
Generation NeXt Marriage by Tricia Goyer
Labels: Books

Great titles, and some I've been curious about! Looking forward to your reviews!
What an awesome set of books! I can't wait to hear what you think about many of them. I have read the Grisham one and the Kinsella one recently and I liked both of them. I also read the Geisha one a year or two ago, right before the movie came out on DVD. And congrats on completing your Austen goal, that's great!
Happy Reading Lauren :)
Great list! Memoirs of a Geisha is on my list for a different challenge this year and I can't wait to read it. I was thinking I was the only person on Earth who hadn't read it yet!
*smiles and Happy Spring!*

Good list Lauren! I'll have to borrow Stacy's Grisham book to read later and I've usually enjoyed the ones I've read by Kinsella. That Kingsbury book is a new one to me so I'll have to check on it sometime!
I read Memoirs of a Geisha. It didn't sound like something I would enjoy, but the scenes from the book are so clear in my mind's eye. I can't wait to see what you think of it.
Lauren,
I haven't heard of most of these titles! The only one I've read is Life of Pi and I recently acquire Having a Mary Heart. Enjoy your reading!
i heard about Having a Mary Heart during this challenge last year, but i've yet to read it. i'll be interested in what you think.
of your fiction list, i've read Remember Me? (just last week, and i thought it was a lot of fun) and Memoirs of a Geisha (a couple of years ago and i thought it was very well written).
happy reading!
You have a great list. You have some on there that are on my to read sometime soon. Can't wait to hear how they go :-)
I've heard good things about Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World; I look forward to reading your thoughts on it.
Looks like a great list. Enjoy your reading and the lovely Spring weather!
thanks for suggestions! i thought about emailing you for yours! i knew you'd have a few ideas! i'm loving dobson's book. really helped already!
Lauren, your list looks fantastic. I have Mom after God's Own Heart and Having a Mary Heart on my "to-read-someday-soon" list, even though they didn't make my list for this spring. And I want to read Playing for Pizza and Remember Me? as well. Thanks for being part of SRT '08. Enjoy your reading!
Wonderful list Lauren! I "had" to read all Jane Austen's books before I could watch any of the DVDs and this morning I was able to watch the Masterpiece Version of Persuasion and loved it as much as the book. I'm reading Sense and Sensibility.
What a great list of books! I've got so many challenges going on (reading challenges) that I don't want to join another. Maybe by fall I'll be able to join a few more!
I am impressed! I would love to be able to read that many books between now and June! Are you a speed reader?
Sweet blessings to you and your family for a precious Easter!
In HIM,
Renee
Love your list! I keep eyeing Grisham's new book but can't seem to part with the hardcover price. Haha. Enjoy your reading!
Great list, Lauren! I can't do this again because I get so behind and then I get guilty. I love reading what everyone's reading, however. Yes, you'll love the Sisters, Ink book!
Hugs,
Susan
Nice list, Lauren!
Your list is quite impressive...there are so many on there that I have read or am getting ready to read. Seems like we have similiar taste in books.
Mary Heart in a Martha World - great!
Mom after God's own Heart - great!!
Persuasion - absolutely fabulous!
Enjoy and Have Fun!

Great list! I've read several of the Dannah Gresh books and I'll definitely be pulling her out again when my girls get older. And that Elizabeth George book is WONDERFUL - I try and pull it out at least once a year.
I read "Grace in thine Eyes" a couple years ago, it was pretty good. "Memoirs of a Geisha" was quite a shock to me when I read it because I did not know exactly what a geisha was. Great list for this challenge!
