You Can't Judge a Book... (A Review and Giveaway)
Each week, my Best Girl and I go to the library while my Favorite Boy is at school. Because my Favorite Boy is a bookworm, I always bring home a basket of books for him to read. Lately, he has been quick to discard some of the books because "they don't look good." So, I have been trying to teach him that you can't always judge a book by its cover.

I guess I should follow my own advice.

When I was contacted about reviewing Taming Rafe by Susan May Warren, I wasn't sure if I would like the story all that much. It is contemporary fiction, set on a Montana Ranch. For some reason, the cowboy scenario was not all that appealing to me. However, because I enjoyed Everything's Coming Up Josey and Chill Out, Josey! by Mrs. Warren, I decided to give the book a chance. This decision turned out to be a good one!

Rafe Noble is a world famous bull-rider whose life goes from the top of the world to rock bottom in a few short months. He heads home to the Noble family ranch to lick his wounds and figure out what is next in his life. Katherine Breckenridge, a wealthy New Yorker, is struggling to keep her mother's charity afloat. When Rafe's and Katherine's lives collide, they are forced to work together. Their relationship brings life-altering lessons and revelations that will change them both forever.

I admit that I learned my lesson. I don't know why I was so quick to dismiss a story about a cowboy/bull-rider, but I am so glad I read this book! Mrs. Warren's tale is filled with subplots, suspense, and surprises; these elements combine to make a wonderful page-turner. I highly recommend this book, and I think this series is my favorite of Mrs. Warren's so far.

I also suggest that you read Reclaiming Nick, the first in the Noble Legacy Series. Although these books stand alone, I prefer to read series books in order. Because of this, I am giving away both books. That way, the lucky winner will be able to read Reclaiming Nick before Taming Rafe. Please leave a comment if you are interested. I will draw a winner on Monday, March 10th.

Additionally, be sure to check out the links below. You will find more information about these great books, including information about Mrs. Warren's latest contest (you could win two steak dinners). Happy Reading!

Wow, he's a cutie, such rugged handsomeness, I'd read it after one look at the cover!
Silly, he's just a model. (He reminds me of my Bear, ah, be still my beating heart.
(sorry too long without my hubby, just missing him, I guess, sob.)

Excellent review Lauren! I wouldn't think I would want to read them either, based on the whole modern-day cowboy/bull rider scenario. But, I'll take your word for it, if you like them I bet I would too. Enter me in your drawing :)

Happy Reading!
