Kenny!

On Thursday night Brian and I went to see Kenny Chesney at the amphitheater (which will always be the amphitheater to me - not Farm Bureau Live or whatever it's called now)! Kenny took last year off, which brought our streak to an end, but it was my seventh Kenny concert in a technical row since there was no concert last year!

We got to experience another perk of Brian's job before the concert when we got into the Corona tent!  The local distributor gave us a couple of tickets to get in - free food and free beer!
The line was pretty long - so we grabbed two on our trip through the line!

We both shared this plate - even though Brian intentionally tried to make himself look pretty gluttonous!!  Love the puffed up cheeks.

And if we want a picture taken, we need to do it ourselves.  My arm looks ginormous!

We had fabulous seats!  I was really scouting out good seats when I ordered them online and was able to get us aisle seats in the middle!  It's perfect because Brian gets hot and he hates being stuck in the middle of strangers.  Kenny was fantastic as usual (and had a great mix of old stuff and newer stuff) and Billy Currington was really good as well!  We skipped Uncle Cracker in favor of dinner and drinks.  I don't think we have anymore concerts lined up this year - although I'm sure Brian will tell me that I'm forgetting Bret Michaels or Poison or something!

Weekly iPurge

Let's see what I took with my phone this week...

My mom and I were out getting the kids' school shoes the other day, and it was getting late and the kids were getting hungry.  We stopped at Wendy's, and I decided to get Reese a cheeseburger instead of chicken.  Oh my goodness, she loved it!  All she talked about was how much she loved her cheeseburger!
Wyatt was so happy the other day to get mail - and it was an invitation to his friend Ethan's birthday party!  He is so excited to see his school friends again!
We were practicing writing B's on Tuesday and Wyatt deviated from the task at hand to draw a picture of Noelle!  He was so excited to show it to me - and then took it outside because he wanted to show it to Noelle in Heaven!  Precious!
I was so excited when Brian told me that he wanted to put these old couches out for trash pick up!  He has had these forever, and he couldn't get rid of them (even when we moved).  Finally he made the decision to do it and it's a good thing he did - he actually got stuck with a staple when he picked up one of the couches.  We'll probably move our current sectional up to the Yankee room when we buy a new couch (which will probably be sooner than we were planning)!
Wyatt was hiding under the laundry basket and Reese decided to trap him - until he threw her off!
I took this of Reesie after swim lessons on Thursday! Love her summertime freckles!
Wyatt wanted to help feed his baby brother - he wasn't too successful!
And finally - I felt like no matter what I did my play room was always messy - even when everything was picked up off the floor!  I didn't buy anything new - these bins were in the kids' rooms.  Instead I switched out the bins that I had (open bins) and put these in the playroom instead.  Made a huge difference!  Now I just need to clean out that bookshelf!

Hudson is 9 months old!

How is he nine months old today!?  Seriously!  I'm going to have to start planning his party soon (although I have the beginnings of a party in my head)!  Forgive his hair - he needs it cut!  I thought we were going to escape the cow lick situation that we have with Wyatt, but it looks like Hudson has one, too!  He's going to have either super short hair or the same cut his big brother has (probably the latter)!

  • He is about 20 pounds. He is so, so heavy.  He weighs me down when I carry him!
  • He wears a size 4 diaper - they seem to fit him better, and they're easier to get on him (he squirms a lot when I change him). He does have overnight diapers now, but those are a size three.
  • He wears his 9 month sleepers and mostly 9 month and 12 month clothes.  I did manage to get him in some 6 month outfits of Wyatt's that I found I last week. I found a lot of winter clothes for him when I was going through boxes, too.
  • He still gets his milk from mommy, and he loves his solids!  I have made almost all of his food (except for the Gerber snacks - puffs and Yogurt Melts).  I recently picked up some Plum Organics foods for "on the go" situations when transporting his food doesn't make sense!  He really liked those.  I picked up some Gerber third foods, too.  I think he's ready for the extra texture and the "real food" flavors.  I've been giving him banana & rice cereal for breakfast, and I think now I'm going to start him on real Oatmeal.  I think he will really like it!
  • He is sleeping like a dream!  I usually put him down around 7:30 and he wakes up around 6.  I would really like to get an extra hour in the mornings.  Not because I'm sleeping (my little early bird Wyatt makes sure we're up by 6 every morning), but because he still has to take a morning nap.
  • After he wakes up in the morning he eats and plays, and then he takes a nap.  This nap can last anywhere from 1 hour to 2 hours.  I don't mind the nap, but it will be really inconvenient next month when school starts!
  • He says Dada, touchdown, hi, Baba and bye.  He signs "all done."  He is super selective with his words though.  He uses them when he wants to.  I'm really trying to concentrate more on talking to him and having him watch me while I say things and repeat them.  The things you learn from SLP's blogs!
  • He is crawling everywhere, and he is also learning to balance and trying to takes steps.  It's really exciting and fun to watch.  He isn't as stationary as he once was.  I can't just set him down on the floor and expect him to stay there (he absolutely won't stay there)!
  • He has 4 teeth (upper and lower front teeth), and his top two incisors are cutting right now, too!
  • He is just precious!  He doesn't have a "lovey," but he still sleeps in sleep blankets.  When he goes to bed at night he sucks on the blanket.  I'm thinking that I'm going to give him a lovey soon - I like to be able to reuse those blankets and they get gross sometimes!
I could barely get him to stay still for his pictures today - he wanted to move everywhere! Here are his out takes!

Pinnable Me: Kids Stuff

Today I'm linking up with Stefanie's Pinnable Me Friday again.  I don't know if it's me counting down the days until school starts (one month from tomorrow!), an organization kick (it drives me crazy, but it seems like everything gets messier before it gets clean), or just the cute stuff, that has me wanting to share fun things that I've found for the kids.  Some of it would be perfect for them now, and some would be for when they're older!

I love all this IKEA stuff for a playroom/homework room.

But I also think this is a super creative way to store art supplies that makes clean up a breeze!

We've already started some "chores" for the kids.  They're obviously big enough to clean up their toys.  They are responsible for cleaning up their mess at the table (they put their plates in the sink - and I've been known to make Reese get down on the floor and pick up every Cheerio she thought it would be fun to drop), and they also have to put their dirty clothes in their hamper when they get dressed or undressed.  I think have these little Chore cards are a great idea!

I think this is adorable to take a picture and then list their favorite things each year! What a fun way to track your little ones favorites as they become not-so-little!

These final two are definitely bigger kid ideas:
I love this idea for days where the kids have big tests or SOL's or (tear) AP exams one day!

I also can not ever imagine leaving my kids alone for a weekend - but  it would be fun to hide a $20 somewhere for them to find after they clean their room!

Keep On Trucking!

We have another week of swimming lessons this week!  Reese continues to refuse to blow her bubbles or open her eyes under water, so she's still hasn't finished Station 2.  Wyatt got his Station 4 sticker today, after getting his Station 3 sticker last month!  He was able to kick across the pool on his tummy and on his back.  It was a great day because he was in a group with his best buddy Tyler and they both passed their stations today, and they were the only two to get stickers.  They were both super excited.  They've come a long way!

So, I'm Kind of Ridiculously Excited

I've been a consultant for Thrity-One gifts for about a month now.  I approached Jenna (who has been amazing to work with!) about a month ago about offering a giveaway of a Thirty-One thermal tote on her page - and it's posted!  Find out the details and enter here!
