Jenna's 4th Annual Comment Challenge - About Me

Today (actually all this week!) I'm linking up with Jenna's fourth annual commenting challenge.  I participated in 2010 and 2011, but I seem to have taken last year off!  I'm excited to join back in!
Today's topic is "About me."  Well, I sum up myself pretty well in my sidebar, but here goes!

Brian and I have been married for almost 7 years, but we've been together for almost 13.  He's a fantastic husband, a great daddy, and a hard worker.  He is also a great baseball coach and he's very rarely spotted without a Yankees hat on!
In typical mommy fashion, I don't seem to have many pictures of me.  Oops.

I am mommy to Wyatt (6), Reese (almost 5), Hudson (2), and Finley (10 months).  I continued to work part time at a job I loved after Wyatt and Reese were born, but once Hudson came along, I retired my high heels and my Limited wardrobe.

I love spending my time with my no-so-little family.  With four kids under six, some days are hard, yo.  But there are so many other moments that make it worth it!  Some of my favorites -
  • Listening to my boy read.  Seriously.  I can't describe the feeling I get just listening to Wyatt read by himself.  It's a whole new world for him.  I grew up reading non-stop, and I'm just so excited for him to discover the adventures that are ahead in the pages of Huckleberry Finn, and Harry Potter, and even comic books!  But I also love watching this boy of mine play baseball.  So. much. fun.
  • Watching Reesie dance and play.  She brings so much joy to everything she does.  And her coloring?  The time she spends picking out the perfect color and staying carefully in the lines just amazes me!
  • Hudson's little voice just melts me right now.  Even when he says, "No Mama!"  But my favorite thing he says? "You the best Momma in the whole world."
  • Finley is just my little baby girl.  She's it, and I am soaking in every second of this little baby while I still can - even though she's becoming such a mover that she only needs me when she eats!
Other non-mommy related loves?
Target, baseball, the New York Yankees, too many TV shows and books to list, country music, wine, the beach (a place I live 8 miles away from, but rarely seem to make it to), buying things to help keep me organized but not actually putting them to use, chips and the white salsa stuff, and Derek Jeter.

And Disney World.  We're all big fans of Disney!  You can check out our trips in 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, and 2012 here.  We're kind of obsessed!

You can mostly find me on Instagram (a lot) and I'm a Pinterest addict.  I'm on Twitter too, but I'm not that into it.  I mainly use it to get my news (okay, and spoilers for my favorite TV shows).

Can someone tell me what I'm missing on Twitter?  I just don't get it all!  Maybe I'm missing something!  Thanks for visiting!

  1. Hi Brittney! I found your blog from the Commenting Challenge and decided to stop over and comment, even though I'm a Mets fan (ha!).

Your children are absolutely adorable! My husband and I are expecting our first child in September. I'll be taking a year off from work to be a stay-at-home mom. I'm a little nervous about the transition. Any tips?

  3. Hi, Brittney! I'm stopping by from Jenna's, too! WHAT a family!! WOW! I personally like Twitter because I like talking to people that I've met through blogging. I don't do much on Facebook. My blog is where I rant and post pics.

  4. Your kiddos are precious too! I agree- hearing your kids read and seeing that lightbulb turn on is amazing. I'm a former teacher so I miss getting to see that from all those kiddos in my class.

  5. I'm Adrienne, stopping from Jenna's! I like Twitter more than Facebook sometimes, because that's how I connect most with other bloggers. Also, it's the best way to get the news. I do keep a Facebook page for my blog, but I'm more active on Twitter as it seems most others are as well. Your kids are adorable!

  6. Other than living on opposite sides of the country (I think) and my lack of trips to Disney World, our lives seem quite similar right down to not getting Twitter :) We are a baseball loving family, and I adore trips to Target, wine, reality tv, and country music. Found you via the commenting challenge, and I'm glad I did.

  8. Thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm slowly making my way through.

I love your kiddos names. I'm secretly hoping one of my girls will names one of their girls Hadley. :) We still have plenty of time to persuade them.

Also, I enjoy twitter. It's fun to connect outside of the blog with little snippets of what's going on.

  10. Country music, wine, the beach...what's not to love about those? I don't get the Twitter thing and only follow my brother...but he mostly tweets during college football season. I've been teaching reading in elementary school for almost 20 years and I LOVE hearing students find their voices as readers. So fun!

  11. I don't get Twitter, either!! I feel like I am missing something, too. So if you figure it out, let me know. We are contemplating a trip to Disney next Spring, so I will definitely be reading about your trips. I am so excited, yet so nervous that we will miss out on something fabulous or waste time on something that wasn't so great. Silly, I know!

Visiting from Jenna's link up! YOu have a beautiful family!!

  13. I used to not tweet either... then it hit me... I can tweet all I want. It isn't looked down upon to have 2-30 tweets per day like in the facebook world where it seems maybe 2 status updates is too many. It is easy to just throw a thought out there and see who replies. I would say that you have to give it a good week go where you tweet pretty frequently, and find people to follow that have things your want to hear and then make a call after that.

Hope you have a great day!

  15. Stopping by from Jenna's. I'm adding you to my Bloglovin list!

I'm the oldest of 7 kids - I have a special place in my heart for big families! And we're taking our kids to Disney for the first time in 40-something days (not that I'm counting), so I'm going to go back and read about your trips!

    Great to meet you!

  16. Stopping by from Jenna's. Sounds like we have a lot in common. I wrote the exact same things about being on IG all the time, obsessed with Pinterest, and have a Twitter, but rarely use it. Too funny. And I love baseball and bows :) You've got a new follower! Swing by my blog too!
