Today was Reese's first day of school!
In case you can't tell, she was totally ready to go, but she needed some help getting out!
She went to bed last night excited about school starting, and she woke up excited and ready to go this morning! Brian stayed home today, so it made it really easy to get out the door and to school on time. And of course, we had to take the obligatory first day of school photos.
She basically ran into the school and into her classroom! I hung back in the hallway with Wyatt while Brian took her in and reminded her where her backpack went, but she apparently had already reached for a slice of bread and a slice of cheese from the play kitchen! He said Mrs. Cindy cracked up because he asked Reese where the potty was and she said, "In the bathroom, Dad!"
We spent the day with the boys running a few errands, and then went to pick her up. I walked in to get her and she was standing at the door to the classroom holding her teacher's hand. She shouted, "Mommy!" And then she ran right into my arms. Best feeling ever! Mrs. Cindy told me that she had a great day, and then told Reese to tell me why she had a sticker on her hand. Apparently Reese pooped in the potty at school, and that made her teacher very happy (and I was relieved too, because even though she's been trained for months, going to the bathroom somewhere new is always a little weird!)
When we asked her what she did at school she said that she played with toys, colored an apple, had apples and apple juice at snack time and then waited for us. Then she changed her story and said that she snuck out of the classroom and out of the school, got in her car and drove home. She really is just the silliest little girl! And I can't wait to have another first day tomorrow when her big brother starts school!
