Soccer Season So Far

Our Spring Season is a hectic.  Everyone is playing baseball or tee ball, and both boys are also playing soccer.

Yes.  We have lost our minds.

It's actually a pretty carefully crafted schedule that we had to put a lot of thought into organizing.  Fortunately both soccer teams are practicing the same night, and we have carpools set up just in case!  The biggest issue is the Saturday shuffle - the little boys play, then the big boys, then Brian takes everyone to t-ball while I stay at soccer and wait for Wyatt.  Then we head to the fields to catch most of the t-ball game before his baseball game.  Then we all come home and pass out.

Hudson gets to play soccer and baseball with his good buddy Jesse.
Even when that means chucking oranges into the grass behind the bench and having to go retrieve them.
He's working on his sweet soccer moves.
While the little boys play, Wyatt and Jack hold court at a nearby field.
Wyatt's team added a few players this spring, and he's been playing a lot of defense.  I get anxious just watching him play goalie!
He seems to enjoy playing defense, but I know that he and Jack really want to get in there and score goals.
I had to take the big boys home with me quickly between games last week.  The other team's parents were shouting "Get the ball past them!,"and "Be aggressive!" at their kids every time Wyatt and Jack went to block them (and succeeded).  I asked them how that made them feel, and Wyatt said, "They probably think that yelling at their kids motivates them, but it really motivates us."  And Jack followed that up with, "Yeah, that just gives us strength to kick the ball back down the field and score."   Next week I expect them to tell me that they're "letting their haters be their motivators."  Ha!

Easter

I hope to catch up on this space soon.  I was looking over memories of my two big kids and was amazed at how much I was able to document.  I want to be able to remember little moments with Hudson and Finley, even though I feel like I am always just so busy!

Here is our Easter in pictures.

February Little Things, Part Two

Staying on top of February's Little Moments, obviously.

Sunday mornings around here are "Donut Days."  Reese used to be eager to make the trip, but she's been spending more time lately hanging out in her jammies.  She and Finley needed to put their orders in before he left!
Homework sure has been fun around here this year....not.  When he makes up his mind to get it done, he finishes quickly.  But the stalling, goodness gracious.  It drives me bananas!
Watching a movie in a box.  Because why not?
These two have such sweet moments.  But she also still refuses to say his name.  She wakes up in the morning and asks about every member of the family.  Except Hudson!
I can't stand the snow and being stranded in and feeling unprepared if I don't have enough food to get us through a week without a grocery store trip.  But I love how beautiful the stuff is!

These two solidified their best friendship in February.
Eeeeeeek!  He was so little then!
Movie night!
They missed so much school because of the snow that Reese's teacher sent them an assignment.  We needed to email her a picture of Reese reading in her favorite spot.  She didn't even have to think about her comfy spot!
Finley broke out the markers.
I just love this pictures so much.
Fun day of basketball games and indoor soccer!  Brian and I split up a lot to get everyone back and forth when we have conflicting schedules (which we really try to avoid)!  These two get along so well.  Wyatt says it's because she's basically him, just a girl who is 5 years younger.  I think he's got it figured out!
Wyatt's indoor soccer team had an awesome UNDEFEATED season.  They also won the championship game - they were so excited, and they worked hard!  Indoor soccer is no joke!  The play doesn't stop because the ball never goes out, and there was only one sub so they were playing almost the entire game!
FQB and Jeter!
We took the three big kids to a hockey game - it was a little crazy, but we had lots of fun!  One day when Finley is a little bigger we'll actually be able to take all 4!

February Little Things, Part One

When you haven't blogged in two months, it's time to play catch up!

February meant...haircuts for these two.

A friend's birthday party with Elsa in attendance for Reesie.

A Buddy Holly shirt for this guy on February 3rd.

A 100th day of school project for my kindergartner.
A sick Hudson cuddled up with Jeter.

Going to Mimi and Baba's house for BP in the barn.

An absolutely beautiful morning at the park that prompted me to promise to take the kids to the zoo in the afternoon...
...and then the temperature dropped 30 degrees on our drive from the school to the zoo,  It was FREEZING when we got there.  We made our rounds quickly!
Wyatt spent lots of time cuddling with his pup and reading.

The boys got bunk beds!  They love them, although Wyatt still falls asleep playing on his floor sometimes.  It's a bit more of a challenge to get him back to bed!

And hockey!  Brian took both boys to the Admirals/Syracuse Crunch game.  They ran into their favorite former Admiral Eric Nielsen!   Wyatt was a huge fan of  him back when he was on the Calder Cup winning team in 2012, and now he would rather root for the Crunch than the hometown team!

I love this comparison- Wyatt at 4 and Wyatt at 7 with his favorite player!
