Reese's Dance Recital!

Reese's first dance recital ever yesterday!  We had a whirlwind day at my sister's graduation party and then wardrobe changes for everyone to get to her recital on time, but she was so excited!

I took these before her dress rehearsal on Thursday!

I love this costume!  It is super cute, and I think it was one of the cheaper ones because it was on sale.  They did a super cute dance called "Me and My Teddy Bear," and their costumes all came with a bear in a matching costume!

Reesie did such a good job!  She started out on one end though....

and made her way down to the other side before it ended.

I think that she spent the whole rehearsal time and the time before the show started hanging out with Paige and Skyler and she wanted to be with them while she danced!

She was very excited to see me when I went to grab her after the show. Her dance class is on Tuesdays after school, so we don't get to see her "in action" very much, but she has learned a lot this year, and she really loves dance!

Reese's Last Soccer Game!

Reese had her last soccer game at the Y last night!  She hasn't played in two and a half weeks, so she was pretty excited to have another game!

She did a great job yesterday, but she wasn't able to score any goals!  The other team had some big players, and they could get the ball down the field, and Reese is really the only player on her team that's "in it."  She would get the ball and not really have a way to get it down the field!

She had a great soccer season, and she is excited to play again, but I know she's ready for a little break!  Yesterday she didn't want to play the whole game (it was soooo hot), and the other kids on her team aren't really that interested in playing all the time!  She usually volunteers to be out there, but yesterday she just wanted to sit on her Daddy's lap and drink water when it wasn't her turn!  Ha!

The Y has a little cook out for families after the final game, so we stayed and had hot dogs and chips.  It's funny because I remember freezing at the cook out at the end of soccer season in that fall, and I was so hot yesterday!  We are so proud of how well Reesie played soccer this spring!

iPurge

So, it's been awhile since I dumped my phone, but the recent loss of my 3GS prompted me to empty it.  The speaker got something in it, which basically made it impossible for anyone to understand me, but I was able to procure a a 3G from a friend to use until I qualify for an upgrade in October.  It was a hassle and a half switching because I followed all of Apple's instructions and backed up my phone, but since I switched from a 3GS to a 3G and downgraded, I lost everything.  Oh well.  Probably won't have that problem in October! Ha!

The big kids have been enjoying lots of outside time the last few weeks!  Wyatt decided a few weeks ago that he wanted to teach his sister to kick the soccer ball with both feet!  She's a good little kicker with her right foot, but he wants her to be able to dribble with both feet like he does! 

That same night the kids were all watching their "last show" together.

Reesie got her phonics book after her parent teacher conference!  She was very excited to show me that she drew lines to all the "B" words and wrote her B's all by herself!

Zulily had a sale on Life is Good boys apparel about a month ago, so I got Wyatt some shirts and this hat.  He kind of loves it!

Reesie had her appointment with the Pediatric Dermatologist last week.  After a NIGHTMARE in the waiting room (one hour. Waiting.  With a three year old and an 18 month old.  Soaked from a tropical depression.), we finally made it in.  The Physician's Assistant was amazing, and Reese did a really great job.  They put some medicine on her in the office, and also sent me home with some concoctions to help the Molluscum go away!  It seems to be working - thank goodness!

Be still my heart!  Wyatt really wants to finish his fifth reader before school ends (not likely), so he has been working very hard to get all of his words down.  The other day he grabbed it and snuggled up on the couch to read to his sister!  This was a first!

Reesie's big dance recital is tomorrow, and she had dress rehearsal yesterday!  My parents took her because they're going to miss the recital tomorrow (my sister's graduation party is the same day), and she was so excited!  How cute is this costume?!

Since my sister's party is tomorrow we have lots of family in town!  We stopped by my mom's house this morning and got to visit with Mason!  These two boys are getting so big!

Funnies From the Kids

I thought it was time to share some of the funny things the kids have said lately.  Mainly, they're all Reesie.  She is obviously a typical three year old with her questions, but she is also really a funny, silly little girl.  She makes us laugh all the time!

I usually ask every night who is bathing first, but I got a special volunteer.
Me: "Who's taking the first bath?"
Hudson: "Hud-doo! Hud-doo!"
Me: "Buddy, I don't think you're first tonight."
Hudson: "Peeease?!"

When having a talk with your kids about money goes wrong. :)
Reese: "Mommy, I know where Daddy gets his money. But where do YOU get all the money you spend?"

Hudson wanted to get up on the couch, and I was doing the dishes.
Reese: "You want to get up on the couch? Okay sweetheart. I'll lift you up."

Me: "I don't think so, Reesie. Why do you think Bon Jovi wears glasses?"
Reese: "You said that the song was old."

I was looking at cups for Brian's smoothie maker on Amazon:
Wyatt: "Excuse me, Mommy? I would like some Soccer Guys for Christmas. So, when it's fall, I need you to go on a dot com and order them. Or, you could do it now."

I have no excuse for this, except they're amazing, and we don't have one in Virginia.
Reesie: "Mommy, one day can we PLEASE go back to Florida so I can go to Super Target again?"

Hudson is 19 Months Old!

I can not believe that Hudson is 19 months old today!  It seems like just yesterday that he was born.  He is definitely no longer my sweet cuddly little baby (although I have a lot of appreciation for the fact that he stayed cuddly longer than his big brother).  He is all boy now!  ALL BOY!

I am woefully behind blogging about his monthly updates, but he did have his 18 month check up last month.

Weight: 27.3 pounds (68th percentile)

Height: 32.25 inches (49th percentile)

He is a big boy!

Here is what my little Hud-doo has been up to lately:

• He runs everywhere!  He is constantly on the go, and he really wants to keep up with his big brother wherever he goes.
• He carries a little bat and ball with him all over the house.  Everywhere.  Sometimes he actually uses them as a bat and ball, but he's also been known to use them as a puck and stick!
• He is obsessed with Wyatt's hockey guys, baseball guys and football guys.  He tries to reach for them, and he says "Guys, guys!"  He loves to play with them on the floor.  He also calls baseball cards, "Guys!"
• He loves "Melmo!"  Reese even has Elmo jammies just because she wanted some that Hudson would love!
• He has gotten sooooooo unbearably cute with his head nodding.  Anytime we ask him a question, he gets a big smile on his face and nods!  Seriously adorable.  He's learning to shake his head for no right now!
• Dancing is his new thing.  In the house he'll  start dancing and turn around in a little circle, and in the car he'll kick his feet and put his hands in the air and nod his head!
• He is obsessed with bananas! (Just like Wyatt was) He'll walk up to the counter and reach his arms up and say, "Nana!  Nana!," until I get him one. Now that he's seen his big brother and sister eat them "like a monkey" that's the only way he'll eat them, too!
• He has learned how to climb up our kitchen chairs and onto the table.  Yeah, that's fun.
• He likes to watch Brian out the window when he's outside and yells, "Dada!  Dada!"  Of course, he has the biggest smile on his face when he does!
• He uses lots and lots of words.  His newest is "flip flops!"  He is very observant!
• Hanging on the sink and tilting his head back is one of his favorite things to do.  He makes a beeline for the bathroom if he sees the door open!
• We experienced our first tantrum today over a sippy cup.  Or rather, Wyatt's cup that he was trying to use.  Or dump out onto the carpet.  Brian actually thought it was Reese screaming!
• He likes to turn the TV off.  When we're leaving the house.  When the kids are quietly watching TV.  When Wyatt is playing Wii.  It definitely causes issues when the TV is in use!
• When it's time to get Wyatt from school, I ask him, "Hud-doo, are you ready to go get Wy-wy?"  He nods his head and runs for the door because he is sooo excited to see his big brother!
• He loves to give hugs!  He gives night night kisses to everyone, and hugs tightly.  He is the cutest!
• At bed time I take him upstairs and he gets his diaper while I get his jammies.  Then he runs to the window to see Ms. Kathleen's pool!  He loves to look at it!  Once he's ready for bed, he points to his crib and once I put him in he cuddles up with his sleep sack until I put it on him.  Once good nights are over he blows kisses and gives me high fives!

Brian told me to add that he is definitely attached to me!  I love it, but it's very different!  With the big kids, I worked until Reese was 26 months, so they were never really clingy!  This little guy cries when I leave the room to go to the bathroom, or get out of the car to run in to the grocery store while Brian waits with him.  It is absolutely crazy to me, but the feeling is mutual!

We all love this little guy so much, and it is so much fun to watch him get bigger and learn new things every day.  He is such a joy to have around, and he always manages to make us smile!  We love you Hud-doo!

And for fun - here is older brother at 19 months!  It is crazy to me how much they look alike, just with different hair colors - and Wyatt is soooo blond!

Our Weekend

On Saturday morning we went to Tyler's birthday party at Hunt Club Farms.  The kids were very excited to go, and Wyatt told me that morning, "Mom, why don't we just get a pumpkin while we're there so we don't have to go back in the fall."  Ha!  Always thinking, that one!

The kids were really looking forward to the bounce house, but we do try to limit their time in them!  So instead we decided to focus on the petting zoo and the playground!

Natalie and Wyatt had a blast with the goats!  Reese actually was a little freaked out by them, so she stayed outside with Hudson and I for a little bit.

Brian surprised us and showed up while we were eating!  I wasn't expecting him at all, but it was so nice to see him!  Since I had an extra set of hands we decided to let Hudson out to pet the bunny, too.

He absolutely loved being able to get out of the stroller and see what the bunny felt like.  He was so excited to be free!

Wyatt and Tyler being Hulk!  They crack me up, but I probably shouldn't have let them sit together because they are out of control.  They did an Iron Man dance, Captain America, and Hulk.  These boys are so silly and sweet!

And this picture cracks me up!  That afternoon we were playing and Reese grabbed my sunglasses and Hudson's winter hat.  She looked at me and said, "is this fabulous Mom?"

Wyatt went to a Tides/Yankees game that night with Mimi and Baba and Aunt Allison and his cousins.  He came home exhausted!  The kids and I spent the day cleaning while Brian was at work yesterday (like, hard core cleaning), and then Brian and I went to see Snow White and the Huntsman.  Boring, boring, boring.  I would have rather seen The Avengers for a third time!

We've watched Part Two of Hatfields & McCoys, so we're hoping to finish that, and we also have a project list about a mile long of things we want to do on his day off today.  He's finishing up the yard, but we need to finish Reese's big girl bed, and go to Home Depot for a new tree for the front yard and to look for some Father's Day ideas for him.  So much for a low key day off!

Last Baseball Game!

Wyatt and Brian had their last baseball game of the season last night.  We have been waiting for this game for a week and a half!  They were supposed to play this game last Tuesday, and it got rained out!  Then on Wednesday - rain again!  Fortunately they did have one practice this week, so they weren't all rusty.  The practice this week actually turned into a game when another team's opponent didn't show up, and the kids had such a good time!

It was pouring about an hour before game time, but Brian was able to drag the fields and get them ready to play!

Wyatt got in three great at bats - he hit the ball hard into the outfield!

One of the the kids very favorite things to do is to line up on the third base line and high five the last batter.  The last batter gets to run the bases like they hit a home run, and it was so fun for them to be their cheering them on home!

 

Aden (number 8) was so cute!  Whenever Wyatt would go up to bat, Aden would shout, "Hey Wyatt!  Get your best hit!"  Once Brian asked him where he was going to be if the ball got hit to him at third, and Aden said, "on third."  When Brian asked where he was going to be if the ball didn't get hit to third, Aden said, "California."  He cracks me up!  He even saw Brian at a hockey game this season and ran up to him and gave him a hug!

I got everything set up for trophies while the kids played their last inning in the field.  Brian was busy packing everything up, and while the kids waited Wyatt and Jameson shouted, "Bring it in!"

And then they shouted, "Go Dodgers!"  One of their many pre and post game rituals.  On Mother's Day they also shouted, "Happy Mother's Day!"

I am so proud of Brian.  He has dedicated so much time to all of these kids this season, and they had so much fun!  The kids learned a lot and all improved, and it's all thanks to Brian giving them what little spare time he has.  I know that he felt the pressures from the other coaches to get things done for them a lot (he's also the Field Director and is in charge of maintenance and game schedules), but he did an amazing job!  Only three more months until ball season starts all over again!
